This information is based on my family’s experiences as we struggled to get the right help and correct diagnoses in dealing with our health issues. Our journey started in 2010, after what I call the perfect storm of events, when everyone in my family of six started to feel unwell.
Being transplants from Connecticut, I was very aware of Lyme disease, and asked for us all to be tested. Little did I know how inaccurate the testing was and Lyme was just one of the factors affecting our health – and thus began our long journey looking for answers. While we all may have looked fine – we were all struggling. Everyone’s symptoms ranged from debilitating fatigue, insomnia, headaches, dizziness, anxiety, digestive and stomach issues and even lack of growth for one child. I started to seek answers, going from doctor to doctor. We saw every specialist and did every test – we got nowhere for years. I started to dig deeper and continued to search for answers and the correct medical help. We sought out Lyme Literate physicians, went to the HANSA Center in Wichita, got intense ozone therapy in Salt Lake City, and most recently saw an MD that specializes in parasites in St Louis. The amount of time and money that we have spent trying to get well is quite frankly obscene. “If I only knew then what I know now” I could have spared my family lots of time and the financial burden of spending literally over $200,000. (No joke. I have all the receipts to prove it.)
That is why I want to share this information – I know there are other families out there like us. I have learned a lot and met some great people along the way. It has been very rewarding for me to see people get results with the information I have shared with them. Sharing what I have learned is perhaps the ultimate “medicine” for me.
